Review - Exterminators #30 - Bye Bye Bug Brothers

Well I knew this day would come. But it didn’t make the ending of what had become one of my favorite books any easier.
The ending was too abrupt. It felt forced, contrived. And I suppose it was. It can’t be easy to wrap up a series in a few issues because you’re being cancelled.
In any case, the last issue of Exterminators was like a mix of everything great about the series; ick factor, scary bugs, truly disturbed villains (cue the frame where AJ is seen wearing Paige’s underwear), otherworldly forces, and not to mention a healthy dose of just-blow-shit-up, and multiplied it by a hundred.
I for one can’t stand bugs; niether the sight of them nor the thought. But I found myself falling in love with this series because it was different and so sublimely fucking sick and twisted. I could hardly wait until the next intallment came out and yes, I have all thirty issues (you should too).
Anyway I’m sad to see it go. I can only imagine the twisty things Oliver and Moore would have come up with were they allowed to continue.
I hope this book does end up being made into a television series but it really won’t be the same.
Let this be a lesson to geeks everywhere. Support your favorite stuff in any way you can. If you love something, let people know.
It would be a shame to let more great works like this get swallwed up by the comic book publishing machine.
